Ella Hill Burton

Ella has served for fifteen years as Executive Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor of Como First Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Kenneth Jones, Jr. By his appointment; she has ministered for twenty-one years at the Como Church as Director of Women Ministries and Community Liaison.

In addition to holding down the fort, administratively, at Como First Baptist and stretching herself to the limit with various organizations and projects; Ella has extended herself throughout the community, city and state to minister to women and children alike in the role of mentor. She has established relationships with women serving time in state jail. Wherein, upon release they have a faith-based face to encourage them on their way and help with their accountability.

Ella is the founder of “Muh Dea’s Front Porch Ministry,” Mission Statement: Modeling Christ through Motivation, Mediation, and Mentoring of Others to the Glory of God. She has received Certification in Women’s Ministry and Biblical Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth. She is certified by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in the Prison Fellowship Ministry; a Bible Study Instructor; Marriage Ministry Presenter; Como Kidz Kamp Instructor and Counselor. Ella has trained with the Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. and teaches fourteen weeks out of the year at the Leadership Academy at Como Elementary School in the After School Program, Good News Club. Ella is a reading coach through TarrantNet Read2Win at the school and Reading Partners there as well. She has attended Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) International (Fort Worth) for the last nine years and is presently serving as a Class Group Leader at McKinney Memorial Bible Church.

Ella has served as an officer and an instructor in the Galilee Griggs Memorial District Association of Baptist Churches Women Division; instructed in the Women Experiencing God for Real and Innovative Ministries conferences, and other conferences and seminars throughout the city and state. Her education includes Major in English at New Mexico Highlands University, Paralegal Studies - University of Texas Arlington; and Christian Ministries at Dallas Baptist University. She received comprehensive training for the National Adopt-A-School Initiative (Project Turn Around) by The Urban Alternative, Dr. Tony Evans; and Michael Chitwood’s Church Management (Clergy, Tax & Law).

Ella volunteers with Code Blue-Citizens On Patrol, and is a member of CAPA (Clergy and Police Alliance) Fort Worth. She has been an Associate Growth Consultant for Tarrant Baptist Association Woman Mission Union, Westside. She is a stateside prayer advocate for Central & Eastern Europe (P.L.E.A.); Judicial Intercessor with Justice at the Gates (North Texas). She served four years on the Board of Directors for Child Evangelism Fellowship of Greater Fort Worth and presently trains Christian volunteers throughout the city on how to start and teach children’s clubs and children church. Ella is the President of the Lake Como Neighborhood Advisory Council, Co-Chair of the Lake Como Planning Committee, a member of the Fort Worth Association of Federated Women’s Clubs Twilight Civic and Cultural Club, Volunteer with the Fort Worth Drowning Prevention Coalition, and most recently asked to serve on the Fort Worth Chief of Police (Joel Fitzgerald) Advisory Council. She is a certified counselor for advance funeral planning in the state of Texas.
