The Fort Worth Police Department ("FWPD") does not have a housing facility for arrested individuals. Arrested persons may be held temporarily at the Fort Worth PD's Detention facility. Unless exceptional circumstances exist, the FWPD does not hold arrested individuals for longer than 48 hours.
For arrests on Class A and B misdemeanors and all felony charges, inmates will be transferred to Tarrant County Sheriff Corrections Center. Some inmates may be magistrated by Tarrant County Magistrates while still in custody at the FWPD Detention facility. If magistration occurs, bond information will be updated to reflect bond amount and arrested person may post bond and be released before transfer to Tarrant County Corrections Center. Bonds may be posted at any time, 24 hours a day, at the Bond Desk, Tarrant County Corrections Center, 100 N. Lamar, Fort Worth, TX 76102. Call the Tarrant County Jail Inmate Information Line 817-884-3000, to determine if bond has been set and the amount of the bond. Individuals desiring to pay the bond themselves are required to pay the full amount of the bond. Bond arrangements may also be made with a Tarrant County licensed and bonded Bail Bond Company.
For Class C arrests, arrested persons will be seen by a Fort Worth Municipal Judge and may be transferred to North Richland Hills Jail. Please refer to the City of Fort Worth Municipal Court website for Fort Worth Class C warrants. For all other Class C arrests, refer to the city that issued the warrants for further information.
