Vice Unit

The Vice Section is devoted to detect, gather information, investigate and suppress criminal activities relating to vice operations in our city, and assist others in their efforts to do the same. The section incorporates Intelligence, Enforcement, and Permits/Abatements.

  • Intelligence: Conducts in-depth criminal investigations of any vice related crimes, which to include On-Line Solicitation of a Child, electronic file sharing of child pornography, organized gambling operations, prostitution based escort services and massage parlors.
  • Enforcement: Addresses and enforces vice related offenses occurring in bars, clubs, public events, sexually oriented businesses as well as street level prostitution all of which that may require short-term criminal investigations utilizing established investigative and enforcement techniques.
  • Permits: Maintains files relative to investigations, applications concerning city permits, permit applicants, and permit holders. The officer also conducts inspections to verify that permits are issued or retained appropriately and coordinates any permit or license issuance and renewals with the appropriate City of Fort Worth department.
  • Abatements: Researches, reviews, prepare reports, and maintain files concerning nuisance abatement investigations and alcoholic beverage permit protests.
